The name of our country is Bangladesh. She became independent in 1971 through a sanguinary Liberation War. Thousands of people laid down their lives for the cause of our independence. With her green fields, trees and plants, it is one of the most beautiful countries in the world. About Bangladesh Culture we will describe part by part:

Location and her area:

Bangladesh is situated in south-east Asia. She borders on India and Myanmar in the east, on India in the north and west and to the south lies the Bay of Bengal. The total land area of the country including rivers is 1,47,570 square kilometers.

Capital:

Dhaka is the capital of our country. The state language of the country is Bangla. English is also taught here in schools and colleges as a second language. There are also some tribal dialects.

Population:

Bangladesh is a land of overpopulation. More than 16 crore people live here. Most of them are Muslims. The others are Hindus, Buddhists and Christians. People of all communities live here with peace and amity.

Dress:

The national dress for men is Pajama and Panjabi and for women, sari. But educated people wear trousers and shirts and young women sallower and chamois. Most people wear lungi and shirt.

Occupation:

Bangladesh is mainly an agricultural country. If we want to describe about Bangladesh culture most of the people are farmers. Farming is their main occupation. Some are service holders, businessmen, doctors, engineers, fishermen, weavers, carpenters, etc. Others are day laborers.

Rivers:

Bangladesh is mainly an agricultural country. The Padma, the Meghan, and the Jamuna are the big river of Bangladesh. The pride of Bangladesh is its rivers with one of the largest networks in the world with a total number of about 700 rivers including tributaries, which have a total length of about 24,140 km.

Birds:

we go the bed with the songs of birds at night and wake up again with the songs of birds in the morning. There are talking birds, game birds, prey birds, water birds, guest birds; weaving birds and beautiful birds in Bangladesh they add charm and beauty to the flora and fauna of our country. The Doel is our national bird.

Crops and Fruits:

The land of Bangladesh is very fertile. Various kinds of crops and fruits are grown here. Rich is our staple food. Jute and Tea are our main cash crops. Mangoes, jack-fruits, pine-apples, papaws, coconuts, oranges, palms, guavas, bananas, lichi, water-melons are very delicious and nutritious fruits of Bangladesh.

Seasons:

There are six seasons in our country. They are summer, rain, autumn, late autumn, winter, and spring. Every year the natural climate is hot and humid.

Natural beauties:

Bangladesh is a land of natural beauty. There are many places with charming natural beauty. The Sundarbans, Rangamati and the tea gardens of Sylhet are very beautiful places. Cox’s Bazar sea beach is the longest sea-beach in the world. The beach with its green background looks very attractive.



 

Economic development:

Bangladesh achieved independence in 1971. it became the successor of a burnt and shattered economy. Though we achieved territorial freedom, we could not yet achieve economic emancipation. Most of the people in our country have to live below the poverty line. More people are looking for employment than there are opportunities for employment. To speak the truth, we are now groping in the darkens of uncertainty in almost every sphere of our life.

Main Poets:

There are many poets in Bangladesh. Sufia Kamal and Shamsur Rahman are the most famous. Kazi Nazrul Islam, who died a few years ago, is our National poet Jasimuddin was also a great poet.

Historical places and tourists spots:

The chief historical places here are Paharpur, Mahasthangar, Mainamoti, Sonargaon, Bagerhat, etc. They are also attractive tourist sports. The other tourists' spots are Cox’s Bazar, the Sundarbans, Rangamati, Kuakata, etc.

Bangladesh is the blessed child of nature. We can not describe about Bangladesh culture. It is enriched with lots of natural resources. I am really very proud of living in such a beautiful country.
